The NYDFS ("Department") explained that the the recent Part 500 amendments were aimed at addressing the changes in the increasingly complex cyberattacks via improving malicious actors. Further the Regulation attempts to keep up with the prevalence and ease in executing numerous cyberattacks, as well as the emerging mitigation tactics employed by covered entitites.
